About us

Comprehensive dental care, done right

Our mission

Red Rock Dental Group was built on a straightforward belief: patients deserve honest, high-quality care without being bounced between specialists or handed a bill that doesn't make sense. Dr. Sam and Dr. Tom designed this practice from the ground up to handle complex procedures in-house, including implants, oral surgery, sedation, and more, while keeping things transparent, efficient, and genuinely patient-first. This is dentistry the way it should be done.

Meet the Doctor

Dr. Sam Elcik

Dr. Sam grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, where he earned his BS in Biochemistry and Chemistry from the College of Charleston before heading to Roseman University of Health Sciences in Utah for his DMD. From there, he completed a General Practice Residency at Swedish Medical Center and Seattle Special Care Dentistry in Seattle, a hospital-based program that gave him extensive experience with medically complex patients, advanced surgical cases, and the kind of high-stakes clinical situations most general dentists never encounter. He is also a Fellow of the ICOI and a member of the AGD, reflecting a sustained commitment to implant dentistry and continuing education.

What drives Dr. Sam is the combination of problem-solving, working with his hands, and building real relationships with patients. He is particularly drawn to dental implants and complex restorative cases, the kind of treatment that takes someone from a compromised situation to something truly life-changing. His favorite services are the ones where the clinical challenge and the human impact overlap.

Outside the office, Dr. Sam is an avid skier, fly fisherman, and mountain biker. He and his wife Sumra are parents to a young son, Reza, and feel lucky to call Central Oregon home, a place that fits both their family and the kind of practice they set out to build.

Meet the Doctor

Dr. Tom Bordieri

Dr. Tom grew up in San Diego, where sports, football, baseball, surfing, and skating defined his early years. He played college football in West Virginia before stepping away from athletics to focus on academics and figuring out the long-term path he wanted to pursue. Dentistry became that path. He was drawn to the combination of science, precision, and creativity, and to the fact that it lets you make a real, tangible difference in someone's life. He earned his BS in Human Biology from UC San Diego, his DMD from Roseman University of Health Sciences in Utah, and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at UCLA, a program focused on complex restorative and comprehensive care at one of the most respected dental schools in the country.

Before building Red Rock, Dr. Tom was deeply involved in the UC San Diego student-run free dental clinics alongside his wife Nicole, who is also a dentist. That experience, improving access to care for people who otherwise would not have it, continues to shape how he approaches practice today. He believes dentistry should be done with high-quality care, honest communication, and a focus on long-term outcomes rather than quick fixes.

Dr. Tom's favorite cases are the transformative ones: dental implants, complex restorative work, and comprehensive treatment planning that takes someone from struggling to thriving. When he's not in the office, you'll find him snowboarding, playing hockey or tennis, fly fishing, or exploring the mountains with Nicole and their daughter Juniper.

The people behind your care

A team that's as invested in you as your doctors are

Every person at Red Rock Dental Group is here because they genuinely care about getting it right, for patients and for each other. From your first phone call to your last follow-up, you'll work with a team that communicates clearly, respects your time, and makes sure you always know what's happening and why.

Your first visit

Here's what happens when you walk through our door

We know that trying out a new dental office takes a little trust, and we don't take that lightly. From the moment you arrive, the goal is to make sure you feel informed, comfortable, and confident that you're in good hands. There's no pressure, no rushing, and no surprises, just an honest conversation about where things stand and what your options are.

Patient Experience

Your first visit starts with a comprehensive exam using our advanced diagnostic tools, including digital X-rays and 3D CBCT imaging, so we can see exactly what's going on with real clarity. Dr. Sam or Dr. Tom will walk you through their findings in plain language, present your options, and give you their honest recommendation.

Free consultations are available for implants, cosmetic concerns, IV sedation, and wisdom teeth, so you can explore your options before committing to anything. If you're dealing with a dental emergency, we keep space in the schedule for same-day appointments and have an on-call line for after-hours urgent situations.

What to Bring

Please bring the following to your first appointment:

A valid photo ID

Your dental insurance card (if applicable)

A list of any current medications

Any relevant dental records or X-rays if you have them available

Note: New patient forms are paperless. You'll complete them digitally before your visit.

Modern tools that make a real difference

At Red Rock Dental Group, technology isn't about looking impressive. It's about getting better outcomes with less discomfort and fewer appointments. Every tool we invest in is chosen because it makes your experience faster, more accurate, or more comfortable in a way that actually matters.

CEREC same-day crowns

Using the CEREC Primescan and Primemill system, we design, mill, and place your crown in a single visit. No temporary crown, no second appointment, and no traditional impression material. You walk in with a broken tooth and walk out with a permanent, custom restoration.

3D CBCT imaging

Our cone beam CT scanner gives us a detailed, three-dimensional view of your teeth, bone, and surrounding structures. This level of precision is especially important for implant planning, oral surgery, and complex treatment cases, meaning fewer surprises and more predictable outcomes.

Digital intraoral scanner

We use a digital intraoral scanner in place of traditional impression material, so no more goop, gagging, or waiting. The scanner creates an accurate 3D model of your teeth in minutes, which we use for crowns, aligners, and treatment planning.

Digital X-rays

Digital X-rays give us clear, high-resolution images with significantly less radiation than traditional film. They're faster, more comfortable, and allow us to share exactly what we're seeing with you in real time.

3D printer

Our in-office 3D printer allows us to fabricate certain dental components quickly and precisely in-house, supporting more efficient workflows and better turnaround on select treatments.

TVs and in-operatory monitors

Every operatory has a TV or monitor, whether you want to watch something to take your mind off the appointment or see exactly what we're looking at during your exam.

Beverage station and comfort amenities

We offer a beverage station, blankets, and a welcoming environment designed to feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. It's a small thing, but the details matter.

Giving back to Central Oregon

Care that goes beyond the chair

Red Rock Dental Group is committed to the community it serves, not just as a business, but as neighbors. Dr. Tom serves on the board of Volunteers in Medicine, and the practice provides free dental care to Volunteers in Medicine patients on a monthly basis. They also support the Central Oregon Trail Association through ongoing donations. For Dr. Sam and Dr. Tom, improving access to care has been a core value since before Red Rock existed, and it's one they intend to keep.
